Take me out to the ball game
We
went to check out Wrigley Field in Chicago on the last night (Sunday)
that I was there. This is a wonderfully historical baseball field that
sells out practically every game that the Cubs play. What's interesting
is that Chicago also has a sworn enemy: Chicago's White Sox, from the
south side of the city.
I just find it really fascinating that you were either a Sox or a Cubs fan and the division is quite clear (even though it's in the same city!)
I don't really know much about baseball, but I guess I was told that they are on two different leagues: the Nationals and the American league. They all came about the same time in the early 1900s. They also have their own stadiums.
After going to Wrigley's, I can safely tell you that our own Minneapolis Metrodome is CRAP!!! Even though the Metrodome was designed and built fairly recent, it's too massive and there are too many barriers that you're no longer that close to the game. The seats we had at Wrigley was insanely close, we could literally just hop over the 2 foot wall and run onto the fields and touch the players...
So in honor of baseball, here are some baseball songs.
Harry Caray is a huge Cubs announcer and I guess it's only fitting that I include him singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game". He died in '98, and they've erected a statue of him outside Wrigley's.
William Hung's version is godawful. He even messed up at the "Home game"
vu

I didn't realise you were from Minneapolis, I have spent approximately 21 hours there over the years while waiting for flights.
that said, and enough of my baseball nerdness, but the twins do have a superior team to the white sox, despite the sox winning the world series two years ago.
