I attended a live taping of Late of the Pier, a band I reviewed. And wow they had so many bad luck with their instruments not working and stuff. Most ridiculous thing was when a staff going on stage to hold a microphone to the hand drums.
Anyway, I am in front as there were no fans there! If they edit it, look for me with a green shirt and Sweaty hair and glasses. It was a lot of fun. It's too bad the band looked awkward being filmed. Maybe they were nervous and maybe they weren't used to bad problems?
Either way it was a nice free show and they had a full setlist, none of that 30 microsets
So hey on iPod in bed again ( I know I am doing a series of these " in bed with vu" posts. I talked to Brody and I think I may be going to sxsw this year. He's got the whole plan basically I will just "tag along" as it were. The cost will be minimal, paying some gasoline and hotel etc. It'll be well worth it since I have always wanted to go.
I can cross this off my list.... There is always cmj still.
Ps those are my cats. Too cute.

I'm am laying in bed with my cat. Things are getting warmer but still not warm enough. It makes me wish it was summer so I can ride my bicycle. That is an old photo I called bicycle adventures. Maybe when I have time I will upload some bike videos on YouTube.
Maybe I should get some breakfast I am soooiooo laZy and I hate typing on iPod keyboard
I was on the lookout for getting my own media receiver/player, and there's just not a lot of appealing players with equally appealing price (read: cheap). What I'm looking for is a product that can play back my media files, plus connect to the internet to watch Netflix, Hulu, CBS, etc. I do not want the product to be reliant on a media server nor do I want to hack it to get it to function (I'm looking at you Apple TV).
Since I'm probably never going to get one that will work for me, instead I'm currently playing around with free TVersity, since ditching PlayOn (the trial was only 15 days and there was no compelling features that would warrant me paying $30 for beta product).
TVersity, based on testing it, works pretty well, that is if you don't use their transcoding or interface! Best of all, you can launch Safari on your iPhone and and point to your IP address: xxx.xxx.x.x:41952 and it will automatically take you to the sharing folders of TVersity. Music and videos plays flawlessly on the iPod and works amazing if you use that same method on your PS3 using their built-in browser.
If you want to test it out for yourself, here's how you find your IP address, on Windows:
- Go to Control Panel: Networking Connections: Local Area Connection.
- Double click on the icon and go to the "Support" tab and it will list your IP address.
On Macs I'm sure it's a lot simpler
PS, will someone please make a working product to watch over-the-air television that doesn't require a media server for the iPhone?

I don't know if joost will survive its fight with hulu, but at the moment joost is the only one on the iPhone. I have been testing it out by watching Jericho. So far Ive only been able to watch the first two episode. The screen is way small and on wifi watching sometimes stutters/clogged.
Still it keeps me plug in while I sort my laundry and trying to stay warm with my cats.
From what I've read apparently hulu won't make it on the iPhone at all :( idont know who's fault it is but reading all the developers opinion it looks like apple drags their feet when it comes to approving apps. As google puts it best, they treat everyone equally poorly.
There are some minor problems I have, but these are small complaints. For instance there's still no copy/paste. There's no alternate browser, or flash stuff. I sort of understand the ant-flash thing as I hate flash-only websites. Flash itself is terrible but everyone uses them including vox.com.
I wanted to write more but there is a limit here
As the title suggest, I am testing out the shozu service on my iPod touch. The problem with safari browser on the iPhone/iPod is that vox just won't compose, etc.
Plus there are all the pownce users complaining they want a desktop client to easily update their status. They don't want a full blog option but want the moblogging thing. So if this works out as I'm testing it (seems to be working).
Anyway now I can update box where there is wifi service :)
